Facebook Scam

A foreigner via Facebook will make friends around. The fraudster will pretend never come to Malaysia before and need a tour guide and local friend to mix with during his trip.

On the day of his arrival, he will through a local phone informing victim that he was detained @ KASTAM because bring too many cash.

The Kastam officer will require you to TT money as compound to release the fraudster.

Tips to handle:

1. Inform the "Kastam Officer" to use the foreigner cash to pay the compaund.

2. Do not simply add friends from Facebook.

Investment Scam

Reported in SinChew 23/4/11 In IPOH.

A group of villagers was cheated in an investment scam in Ipoh.
They were told to invest a lum sum of RM X into a scheme that breed ground Worm and to be exported later with a guarantee monthly return of RM y.

A total of RM 87k was cheated away, 20 person get guarantee return for first two months only. The middleman ran away after that.

Alert:
1. Do not invest with unauthorise party.
2. Always check with Bank Negara for such investment scheme
3. Only invest with BANK that have Bank Negara Licence

Snatch case in Serdang restraurant

Reorted a Snatch thief suspect is INDIAN / Bangladesh snatch away hand bag from restraurant corridoor.



















Alert:
1. Do not side near corriddor while leaving your hand bag / laptop bag behind you seat.

2. If you really want to sit near corriddor, try sit facing the corriddor instead of back facing corriddor.

3. Laptop bag strap tie on the chair arm, if the thief grab the bag, the chair will also be grabbed...this will slow down the snatch movement.

TRUE STORY - MY WORKING COLLEGUE Faisal's Friend.

This is my sad story, a one really unforgetable moment in my life. Finally its my turn to experience an unfortunate event.

Yesterday, between 10.00 to 10.30pm at Elite highway, I have been hijacked.

I make my way home from work place around 9.30, reached Cyberjaya toll around 9.50 pm. I then take an exit to Shah Alam. Just about 50 metres after I take my left lane from the exit, I noticed one Mercedes E Class 240 from right lane behind me, take a closer range to me. At first, I don't bother, but then it came really near and wind down window on passenger side, I saw one Malay guy with PDRM cap and long sleeve shirt look like a police traffic asked me to pull aside. At that time, I was thinking, whether to run or not. If I run, I'm not sure if I'm fast enough to outrun them, or if they are real police, I would get shot and if they are not real police, if they have gun, sure they can outrun me and put a bullet inside my head, So I made a stop.

The Malay guy on passenger side came down and approached me, I was still inside car at that moment. That guy asked me to come out. Thinking it was high profile police driving Mercedes, So I go out while shutting down the engine. That guy circulate my car and mentioned that this car was suspected as stolen car. I straight away denied it and that guy asked me to follow him to police station, So I said OK but before that I asked him one thing, Where is your badge id? And then bad dream happened.

The guy suddenly grabbed my hand, tried to cuff me with his handcuff and tried to drag me into the Mercedes, I struggled myself to get away as strong as I can and dragged that guy to opposite way. I managed to let myself go but the guy managed to confiscate my car key. I made no turn, run as fast as I can to opposite way of the highway while shouting and waiving hands for help but no one made a stop, thinking it was real police try to catch me and i am the criminal !!!

After a while, I looked back and saw the second guy, the driver, also Malay came out, drove my car and gone with the Mercedes. After a while, one lorry replied my waiving and took me to nearest toll booth where I found one patrol car there, I ended up until dawn at police station reporting everything.

I lost my car, my notebook, my phone, and nearly my life if I were successfully dragged into the car. I may end up like Susilawati case though.

The case has been classified as high profile crime because robbing at daylight, in public, no mask on and possible firearm involved. So guys, beware, my advice, always speeding, don't care about the speedtrap, Your life is more important than the ticket that u have to pay.

Update as of 9.4.2011 :-

Identification has been done and one of the suspects seemed inside database already wanted for the same case. Police failed to detect my car through any highway CCTV after the said event. My car nowhere to be found.

Update as of 12.4.2011 :-

No news from police, going to submit insurance today.

Fake accident, follow by kidnap & rob

A pedestrian crossing street and purposely hit into your car.
The victim will panic and thought that he/she knocked the pedestrian.

In this moment, another friend of the pedestrian will try to help and seek the driver to drove them home. WHile reaching home, the real kidnap happened and the robber took the drive ATM and start withdrawing.

Alert:
1. Do not go down car alone after accident if the place is quite area.
2. Call 999 for patrol car help immediately.
3. Insist to send the pediestrian to hospital and lodge a police report.

Prayer scam @ Rawang wet market

Another syndicate of female cheating female in wet market of Rawang, Selangor.

Alert: Do not talk to stranger in wet markets especially those try to ask direction to some where and need you to bring them there.

JB alert on ATM robbery

A group of 5 robbers in JB kidnap women with knife and throw into their van.
The victim will be bring to ATM machine to perfrom cash withdrawal from their ATM card.

Alert:
1. Set the ATM card withdrawal limit to minimum.

Puchong Alert

Puchong Utama Robbery on the street, street snatch and break into house.
Reported in SinChew 5 April 2011 @ Puchong Utama Industrial Area 2, motorists break into housing area.

Those victim who walk alone are the key target of the robbers and snath thief in this area.
